BIOGRAPHY

Indie alternative pop punk (folk disco) influenced by bands like the pixies, wedding present, pavement, mercury rev, the cure, the cramps, the clash, pink floyd and iron maiden.

What SPI do that makes them special is try and get the guitars to play different things from each other, a bit like fugazi. Why have two guitarists in a band when they both play the same stuff?

The music is catchy and melodic whilst retaining a rough punk edge circa 1979. The bass and drums are the backbone of the punky logistical corps.

The band use harmonies, vocal counterpoint and time changes. The lyrics are narrative tales of ex-lovers, metaphysics, crime and urban alienation, or sometimes just random words that seem to rhyme.

Congealed in Edinburgh in 2003.
